If I disappear, just check my desk chair for the homemade garlic roll and gingersnaps....that will be me. I have eaten so many of both in the past 24 hours, I am quite possibly turning into them.
More Kumihimo happening. I haven't had time to take photos as they are so shiny they need a proper photo rather than a rough one on my desk. I made one with 3mm Czech firepolish beads on silk threads. It feels wonderful in the hand but it is rather ugly. It is so 'thready' it looks quite odd. A good experiment though.
I dug around in the sewing room and found several yards of 1mm satin cord in black. I made a 20" braid with it. I love it.
Next up, I started a braid with 30 gauge wire. It's not quite done. It's...interesting. I'm trying not to pass judgement until it is complete. It does have potential. I'm pretty sure I will need to find my draw plate and pull it down like I would viking knit. I am, also, very sure a nicer braid would result, using a Marudai, instead of the foam disk. The wire crinkles from inserting it into the slots.
